I was excited to find this video post of an elementary school nurse's explanation of COVID 19. I found it simple and easy to understand especially for our age group. That being said I recommend you either preview and/or sit with your child to watch it so that you can answer any questions they might have. Please know I am available to answer any questions too. Nurse Reed reads Gregory the Terrible Eater

Good morning Cambridge Families, As you know, one of my favorite topics is how to stay healthy. I'm sure we would all agree that eating healthy food is a very important way to stay healthy. Have you ever noticed that sometimes we don't like a healthy food the first time we try it? Well, did you know you have to try a new food 10 times before your tastebuds can decide whether they really like the food or not? Gregory the Terrible Eater is the story of a goat who eventually learns to like the flavor of cans, boots and newspapers, those foods goats normally like, only by trying them over and over again. Good morning Cambridge families, in the spring and summer months we spend a lot of time outside. You can enjoy the great outdoors but don't forget about the threat of ticks. Ticks can carry diseases like Lyme disease. Join Raji and Alex while they go for a walk and talk about what ticks are and how you can avoid them.

Face masks

Good morning Cambridge families, this week we talked about playing our part to stop the spread of germs by social distancing. Another practice just as important in stopping germs is wearing a face mask. Wearing a mask not only protects the person wearing it but more importantly, it protects those people that need extra protection like infants, the elderly and people that have chronic diseases. But sometimes face masks are confusing. You can't always recognize the person wearing one. You can't see their nose or their mouth. Sometimes it hard to hear what they're saying. They can be uncomfortable to wear. The attached video is a social story that helps explain that even though people look different behind a mask, they are still the same person. Wearing a face mask is another way to play our part in protecting ourselves and others.
